Virus can stay on clothes and other surfaces up to 48 hours

Symptoms occurs 2-4 days after exposure
Recovery time is between 2-3 weeks
Dogs will be shedding the virus for 30 days
Vaccine is on back order at this time
Vaccine lessens the symptoms of the flu
There are 2 strains of virus at this time

Symptoms are:
- Cough
- Fever
- Runny eyes or nose
- Shortness of breath
- Hard swallowing or excessive throat clearing
- Lethargy
- Decrease in appetite and water consumption

If you dog or puppy are showing these symptoms please stay at home and call your veterinary ASAP.

Minimizing risks:

6 feet between dogs and people
Changing clothes when getting home and washing hands
Deep cleaning surfaces between classes
Dogs having own water bowls
Puppy kindergarten classes: smaller play group with regular dogs and new puppies in separate groups
Avoid high dog areas like dog parks, day cares, agility, other dogs outside from the normal.

We want to slow down or stop the spread so please if your puppy/dog is sick please do not come to class.
